Course Description

Take your milking skills to the next level with our 2-day QQI level 6 course! If you’re comfortable with the basics of putting on clusters, starting the machine, and washing up, but want to expand your knowledge and refine your techniques, this course is for you!

  • Milk Quality & Safety – Understand how to achieve and maintain milk quality by preventing contamination in all areas of the farm.
  • Dairy Cow Welfare – Recognise early signs of mastitis, spot lameness, and implement stress-free milking routines for healthier cows.
  • Legislative & Health Compliance – Get up to speed with food safety laws, hygiene regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Biosecurity & Disease Prevention – Learn how to reduce the risk of infection and disease transmission within the herd.

This course is delivered by FRS Training in conjunction with Teagasc, Department of Agriculture, Food & Marine and Animal Health Ireland.
