Free Ignite Training Programme Re-ignited for the young people of Meath

FRS Training in conjunction with Meath Partnership and Leader are delighted to announce that the Ignite Programme will be relaunched in September 2023.  This programme was originally planned to begin in 2020 but unfortunately due to COVID the programme was suspended.

The purpose of the Ignite Programme is to support young people to engage in employment, education, and training in rural communities throughout Meath.

Meath Partnership together with FRS Training are delivering this free 15-week training and employability initiative for young people aged between 18-27 years of age. This initiative is fully funded by the LEADER 2040 Rural Development Programme and there is no cost to participants.

The Ignite Programme offers participants an opportunity to ignite their potential for working in the following sectors;

  • Agriculture
  • Horticulture
  • Hospitality
  • Sport and Fitness

Each training course offers participants the opportunity to experience the skills required to work in each sector along with career development techniques to further ignite their interest and potential to develop more skills in a workplace environment.

Colin Ludlow, Chief Executive Officer, Meath Partnership said; “On behalf of the Meath Local Action Group and Meath Partnership, I am pleased to announce the revival of the IGNITE Rural Youth Initiative, delivered in partnership with FRS Training. Despite facing a considerable pause due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this LEADER-funded programme holds tremendous potential to significantly impact on the career and job opportunities of young individuals in County Meath. The initiative aims to empower and guide young people, enabling them to step confidently into the realms of employment or self-employment.”

Peter Slattery, General Manager, FRS Training said; “We are delighted to see the Ignite Programme being made available to the young people of Meath to give them the skills and confidence required to enter or re-enter the jobs market. We have developed a relevant programme to meet the needs of these young people, to ignite their potential and give them a strong pathway to secure the job they want for their future.”

The Ignite Programme is open to applicants now for courses starting in September 2023. If you are interested email ignite@frstraining.com or visit www.frstraining.com/ignite
