Severing of Uprooted or Windblown Trees

Description:
Candidates will learn the skill of dealing with individual and multiple windblown trees

Candidate Criteria

Candidates must be over 16 years of age.
Candidates should be relatively fit and agile as course is physical
Bring own PPE (chainsaw boots, chainsaw combi helmet, Chainsaw pants, chainsaw gloves). If you are unable to provide PPE we will supply Lend PPE for the duration of the course

Candidates must have previously completed Unit 201, 202 and 203(maintenance, crosscutting and felling of small trees) to sit this module

Course Content

Candidates will learn how to:
*Sever wind-blown or otherwise uprooted trees
*Sever trees both under and over effective guide bar length in diameter
*Restrain over hanging (forward weighted) root plates prior to severing stems
* Promote health and safety and industry good practice
* Sever uprooted and windblown trees using a chainsaw
* Understand relevant health and safety legislation and industry good practice
*Understand how to sever uprooted or windblown trees using a chainsaw

Course Notes

All learning material will be provided by FRS Training. You will be registered and certified with City and Guilds through our centre.

Course Comments

Upon successful completion of the course candidates will receive City and Guilds certification.
